Ever heard about the life changing effects of Tivo? If so, imagine the annoyance when one day your Tivo dies, and you’re left watching TV as the cavemen once did.Tivo has decided that, should one seek to actually use it, one is limited to exactly 14 minutes of time. After 14 minutes, Tivo crashes. Recording? It better be a show 14 minutes long. Watching live TV? Forget that. It works fabulously as an all around TV deterrent, however.I was an early adopter and picked up my “open box”, rebated (read: half price) Tivo about 3 years ago, so I don’t exactly feel ripped off. What I feel, pathetically enough, is abandoned. Such is the power of Tivo.Update: It turns out life without TV is easier than life without Tivo – I’ve almost completely stopped watching series and anything other than occassional ‘background noise’ TV. So, in a way, it’s a good thing.
