Finding a writing routine is such an endless quest. I sat for about 3 hours today in a local cafe – wrote, revised, plotted, for a net gain of about 3 pages and some plot structure on my current book. I love it – this is what I would do with my time, the bulk of it anyway, if it were only that easy.Why is it then, that it’s so hard to find consistency? Why is it so hard to find a place to write in peace for those of us who don’t work well at home?Here’s what I want:1 Location, medium size, smells like fresh coffee but also serves sodas and cookies;has free wireless;seats allow one to place back to a wall, preferably with some sort of nook.I envision a library carrel but with waitresses and the ability to serve both breakfast and lunch. I would pay a membership fee for something like that, to offset the cost of a roomful of shlubs taking bandwidth and tables for hours on end and only drinking coffee, maybe a bagel. I’d spend most evenings there in fact. I’m sure there are a huge number of students, coders and other writers who would do the same.Alas…
